So I thought this would be a great way to start Things That Go Pop with the Mother of all Pop ... oh, and Madonna. I met Her Madgesty at this year's GRAMMY Awards in February and I got to hang out with her and her posse for a couple of hours. She was fantastic. I, of course, was worried my hopes and dreams would be shot to hell should she be a raging diva but we talked about both being from Michigan and how ridiculous the accents are there (I did not, of course, bring up her brief stint with her everyday British accent as we were just becoming best friends). She is very tiny and very gracious. She told me at the end of our rendevous that I was very good at my job and then kissed me on the cheek (which cheek I will never tell but it hasn't been washed since)...more popdom coming soon....(and I can't wait until her EP of "Jump" is available....)....
