The Recording Academy announced the Top 12 finalists in their "My Grammy Moment" campaign today. Unsigned artists vie for a special performance slot on the 49th Grammy Awards with multi-Grammy nominee and sexy Alpha Dog himself Justin Timberlake. Popsters can log on to Yahoo! Music to view the video submissions, bios and photos of the 12 hopefuls, and vote for their Top 5 favorites. The results of this round will be announced on Jan. 17.
My peeps at The Academy tell me they received more than 3,000 videos, Popettes. Check out the videos because some of the people actually can sing -- and are HOT!!
And here's the rest of the skinny, darlings: Over the next several weeks, fans will continue to narrow the field from five to three finalists by voting online at Yahoo! Music (http://music.yahoo.com/mygrammymoment/). The top three finalists will be announced during Super Bowl weekend and each will rehearse with Timberlake during Grammy Week in Los Angeles. The public will choose their favorite performer via online and text message votes during the 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards, held on Feb. 11, 2007. The winner will be announced live on the show before his/her "Grammy Moment" with Timberlake. Are you kidding me? Wouldn't you be peeing in your Calvins if you were one of these three who had no idea if they were going to perform until 2 seconds before you stepped on stage in front of the world??! Mylanta, Georgia Roxie would not be very pulled together, Popsters, I must admit.
Anywho, break a leg all of you Grammy Wannabes ... TTGP Is Rooting for you!!
