Rox Goes to BET Awards
Hello, Lovers. So, Rox got all gussied up and went to the BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium with my friend Branden tonight. It was quite the who's-who of the African American community -- and Rox. I was able to chat with my buddy Chris Brown who was looking snazy in horn-rimmed glasses, and I chatted with my friends at Access Hollywood (Shaun Robinson is looking fierce!). Otherwise, it was a pretty good show with Ne-Yo and Beyonce tearing it up while the token white boy Robin Thicke (yes, Alan Thicke's son) did a good job but needs to lose the silly 'stache on his face (bless his heart). Now, there was a tribute to Gerald Levert with Eddie Lavert, Yolanda Adams, Gladys Knight and the ultimate diva Ms. Patti LaBelle singing a fantastic version of Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings" (it was way cooler than it sounds, darlings, so shut it). The most weird/disappointing, dare I say, "performance" of the night was by 50 Cent...there were dancers, pyros, loud beats, a DJ and 50 (pronounced "Fiddy") was supposed to rap or something. However, he ended up forgetting all the words and simply prancing around the auditorium showing off his pecs. Oh, and at the end he said, trying to cover up his faux pas, "It doesn't matter...thanks Vitamin Water." Now, if you're in the know like Rox is then you know that Fiddy soon can change his name to $400 million as that's what he now has netted thanks to his Vitamin Water being purchased by that little company called Coca-Cola. Fiddy's first movie was called "Get Rich or Die Trying" and the sequel to that is now "Get Hydrated and Make Millions" or "Who Cares if I forgot the Words, I'll Buy Them Next Time." Will be interesting to see whether or not people will buy his next CD, now, won't it. Ehem. Anywho, Rihanna is flawless and there were no shoot-outs this year so I suppose the night is a success (and Lil Kim's top didn't fall off so the crowd was quite mello). Anywho, Rox had a great time hanging with my homies tonight, ya feelin' me? Stay chill, yo.
