Darlings, if you want a tremendous groove mix CD for your next Cosmo party then you must, must, must get the soundtrack from "Sex and the City: The Movie." As you listen to the CD you feel like you are traveling the not-so-secret story line of the movie -- actually, any movie that spans a year and crosses borders...however, loves, the highlights are of course the Fergie track "Labels or Love" -- just a little too literally for Rox but it's fun nonetheless (as you know Rox wrote about this years ago but to refresh: Fergster said she was "too busy" to record a song and then watched the movie and felt Dolce & Gabbana-sized inspiration) that samples the SATC theme song (fun stuff but not sure it's a hit) and the Jennifer Hudson groover "All Dressed in Love" which has the crooner belting out a fast-ish songathon. Then there's the remake of Bee Gee's "How Deep is Your Love' by The Bird & The Bee, "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" by Al Green and Joss Stone, and many other great Paris-in-a-Cafe tracks. The real winners besides Hudson's are: "Kissing" by little known electronic band "Bliss," and India Arie's remake of "Heart of the Matter" which was so overlooked on her previous CD. I am telling you -- hasn't been a better soundtrack since "Pretty Woman." TTGP gives SATC: The Movie Soundtrack a 4 out of a six-pack of pop! Songs & The City, darlings, Songs & The City...
