"True Colors" is Best Show Around

Ok --yes, I've loved Madonna and Cher and Bette and Bon Jovi as concerts...but if you want a non-stop tour-de-force (that's right, Rox said TOUR DE FORCE)...then check out Cyndi Lauper's True Colors tour ASAP. Rox went with a bunch of girlfriends and by "girlfriends" I mean guys that were light in their loafers but still men. Anywho, so we went to the "True Colors" tour that boasted a roster that would make your 80s collection absolutely MAD! B52s, Andy Bell from Erasure and, of course, Ms. Lauper. Wanda Sykes and Carson Kresley emceed the evening -- Wanda was HI-LAR-I-OUS and Carson was, well, gay. But the real showstoppers were the B52s...yes, they are 100 years old but they rocked The Greek Theater and Cyndi Lauper. Let me gush...she is one of the most amazing performers I've ever seen live...she danced the entire night, played numerous instruments, ran out into the crowd, told jokes and had very poignant (yes I said "poignant") moments. We forget that some 25 years ago it was a battle between her and Madonna (a la Whitney vs. Mariah or Britney vs. Christina). Many said Cyndi would outlast Madge. And although she hasn't had the commercial success of soon-to-be divorced Mrs. Ritchie, there is something so pure and magnificent about her talents that makes her truly one of a kind. If "True Colors" comes within 50 miles of your dwelling...go see it. Rox would see it time after time...yes, that's exactly what I said!! And if you want a great party CD make sure you get Cyndi's latest dance CD "Bring Ya to the Brink" which gets 4 pops out of a six pack...welcome back!!
