Weekend Box Office in U.S. Up (Chuck)

The Adam Sandler pretending to be light in his loafers but really after Beil's bod laugher took the number 1 spot at the box office this weekend with more than $34 million -- enough to presto chango the 5th installment of Harry Potter (the movie) from first to second. But it was the $27 million take of Hairspray that is surprising folks in the industry. Now, if you look at the cast you will see the lineage of movie musicals is the best in the biz -- Travolta (Grease), Pfeiffer (Grease II), Latifah (Chicago), Efron (High School Musical)...sheesh, if only Bernadette Peters or Patti LuPone were in it we'd have a slamdunk...oh, wait. Anywho, Rox is seeing Hairspray this weekend after I recoup from my fab trip to Brazil. And, fyi, Ocean's 13 just got released in Brazil while I was there.
