"Jessie's Girl" Stuck in 80s HeyDay

First of all, do not judge the Rox. Do not laugh at the Rox. Do not whisper about the Rox. Especially when I tell you that Rox went to see Rick Springfield last night with my bestie Branden, his mother (don't judge) and some other fun friends. Now, the only thing more embarrassing is that John "I Ain't Missing You At All" Waite opened for Mr. Springfield. The concert was at the Gibson Ampitheatre which holds about 3,000 people. If there were even 2,000 folks there I'd paint myself red and call myself Elizabeth Arden. Anywho, I can't even tell you how painful and hilarious this event was -- thankfully we have a private suite with our host/bartender "Dominic" but not even libations could numb the stuck-in-80s pain. Mr. Springfield has not realized he's a has-been and comes onto the stage with the cockiness of this month's Teen Beat cover boy. And, although I thought I was imagining it at first, Springy would be doing a "guitar solo" and then suddenly stop playing and yet magically the riffing and what-not would somehow continue. Ashely Simpson, what?! And you know you're in trouble when he does a "medley of hits" and people are desperate to even recognize even part of a chorus of one of the tracks. All that was missing was his famous half-shirt and we would have been time-warped back into Brat Pack Hell. Strange that Rox just saw Ms. Cyndi Lauper perform and her show was so vibrant, new and accessible that you couldn't help but dance in the aisles. At Rick's show people were stampeding in the aisles -- for the exits and the bar. As we say in the south, bless his heart.

Yes, but have you seen Dr. Noah Drake's son, Dr. Patrick Drake on GH??? H-H-H-HOT!!! Rick may have stuck us with the image of his half shirt, but his Daytime Drama genes are very pleasing to behold!
