"Superbad" Is Anything But
So Rox and my partner in crime Mark went to see the $30-million grossing movie "Superbad" last night. Although it's a "coming of age" flick it steers clear of all of the cliches of recent similar stories ... Sandy doesn't turn into the biker chick to be cool and no one changes who they are by beating up the class bully. It's about friendship, loyalty and growing pains of fitting in, letting go and being ok in your own skin. That's a tall order for a flick such as this and it never disappoints. The acting is first rate making stars out of its leads Michael Cera and Jonah Hill, as well as "McLovin" himself newcomer Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Yes, it's about getting sex. Yes, it's about underage drinking. But first and foremost it's about depending on your friends and finding your way. The dialogue is witty, the acting superb and the storyline surprising. TTGP gives Superbad 5 diet soda cans out of six.
