5,000 Osmonds on Oprah (No Fainting, Please)

More than 100 members of the Osmond family traveled to Chicago to film an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show' Thursday. The taping went forward despite the death of patriarch George Osmond, father of Donny and Marie, in his Provo, Utah home on Tuesday.

He wouldn't have wanted it any other way, family members said.

"We talked about it and my father would want us all to be here," Marie

Osmond said on the show, the AP reports. "He loved his family."

The Osmonds are a large clan. George Osmond had nine children, 55 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren according to the AP. But even with a house full of kids, the Osmond siblings told Oprah that the family is a very close and tight knit group.

"Isn't it interesting how two people can raise a family in show business - nine children - and we still love each other," Donny Osmond said during Thursday's show.

The episode, intended to celebrate Donny Osmond's 50 years in show business, is scheduled to broadcast today.

And, darlings, if anyone thinks Marie's "fainting" episode was legit then I have some parenting books from Britney to sell you...
