In the old days (you know, post-cassette), some used to say the death of a celebrity meant the death of gossip-mongering around them. It was a level of respect afforded to the fallen star, their family and fans as a whole, some snicker. But that was before Princess Diana, before the tabloid explosion and before the Internet. And, I supposed, before Gladys Kravitz. Now, it appears, nobody -- dead or alive -- is too taboo for a headline, as Heath Ledger's uncle claims the actor may have fathered a child when he was 17. Interesting that he says this now just as Ledger's estate is being disputed by his own father. How disgusting is this little world, lovers? Ah, I long for the days of watching only basic cable and playing Pong...(FYI, photo is not of said love child but his own daughter with actress Michelle Williams.)
