Yes, lovers, thanks to all of your support and the numerous global brand sponsors that TTGP has accumulated over its history we are proud to report that this is our 300th POST!!! Please, be seated, you're embarrassing me. Rox is blushing. But, darlings, as a civil servant of yours I don't have time to waste on how wonderful, lucky and glamorous I am. I humbly serve all of you completely shallow, bored darlings. So humbled...
Anywho, Rox has a special treat thanks to a good friend of mine who shall go unnamed (we'll call him Courtney Thorne-Smith). So, CTS has allowed me to preview four tracks that will be appearing on Madonna's "Hard Candy" out this coming Tuesday (mental note). And let me tell you ... Madonna is not f-ing around. She wants to have hits. She wants to have radio play. She wants this album to remind people that, at almost 50 years old, the material/ethereal girl/mom can still kick arse and crank out relevant, awesome pop music!
Let me tell you what the second single is going to be (and if it's not, they're smokin' crack-is-whack) -- especially as a follow-up to the worldwide smash (and hot video) of "4 Minutes" with that JT character ... the follow-up song should be "Give It To Me" which upon first listening you're going to be going through withdrawal until you hear it again -- it's THE summer hit that will be played on beaches, in convertibles, in spin classes (or step classes in the midwest, sorry). Just listen to it, lovers.
The other three tracks I heard were: "Heartbeat," "She's Not Me," and "Miles Away." All hits. All singles that definitely could be released to radio. "Heartbeat" sounds like old Madonna with a modern spin ... tale about dancing on the dance floor, being in love and getting away from it all thru music ... it's a groover that could have been on Nelly Furtado's album "Loose" but it's pure Madonna (except for a Fergie-esque "see my booty get down", um...). On this track you realize that Madonna probably is one of the only singers in history whose voice actually has gotten lightyears BETTER.
"She's Not Me" another dance floor megahit in the waiting, has been misunderstood Rox thinks by reviewers...people think she's talking about the pop Madonna wannabees but it's really about a relationship and how the grass seems always greener...and let me tell you that this has Prince-esque guitar licks all over it. FAB. Another single-worthy track which has spurred all of the "are the Ritchies in trouble" speculation is "Miles Away" -- a slow jam (and apparently the closest thing to a ballad on the set) that covers how much better Madge's relationship is when they are "miles away" but it's not a statement, it's a concern of hers. IT IS AWESOME.
So, unlike "Confessions on a Dancefloor" which was neither confessional nor accessible, "Hard Candy" is poised to prove that this 50-year-old definitely is no Pop Virgin. Take a Bow.

Hey Rox! My momma thinks Madge is going another sort of Guy.... and it's JT! Do you think they are getting down to another dance anthem? Perhaps the Wild Thing?
xoxo Loving you and yours!
I think this is the fastest I have ever fallen in love with a Madonna album. It's all so catchy and fun and...dare I say, relevant. It's just really good pop music. Brava!
