"Roxferry" is Roxin' Rox's World, Baby!!

Ok, ok...Amy Wein-in-the-bighouse who??? 2008 is all about Duffy (not Patrick but just "Duffy") -- if you haven't been hearing about this Welsh singer/songwriter I ask that you turn off Dancing with the Stars and American Idol and turn on a cool radio station ASAP (are there any radio stations still around, btw??)! Anywho, if you can close your eyes and hear the production value of Amy Weinhouse but with way more interesting melodies, arrangements and, oh, much better singing and more singable lyrics then this soul kitten is for you!! From the title track "Roxferry" to current hit single "Mercy" (which must win Record of the Year, do you hear Rox Grammy darlings??) to "Warwick Avenue" and "Stepping Stone" (which could be a James Bond theme in the 60s), this soulful singer with a voice that explodes into notes that you don't think she has in her. There isn't a bad track in the bunch -- pop, soul, 60s funkishpop; it's more interesting and accessible than Weinhouse's Grammy-winning "Back to Black" and somehow you actually think her artistry and singing will actually stay in the spotlight instead being overshadowed by, say, someone's tragically public personal life of drugs and bad beehives (no names, please). I'm telling you. This woman is going to be big, big, big. So I tried to make you go to iTunes but don't say no, no, no...because I promise you will be completely addicted to Duffy's debut. TTGP gives it 5 out of a six pack. Thanks for giving us music that speaks/sings for itself. And, btw, Rox loves the title!! Cheerio and toodles!
