CB RICHARD ELLIS COMMITS, CAMPAIGN STEERING COMMITTEE FLIPS (THE SWITCHES), & OPENTABLE JOINS DINELA AS NATIONAL PARTNERS FOR DINE BY CANDLELIGHT...ALL A PART OF HISTORIC EARTH HOUR L.A., MARCH 28, 8:30 - 9:30 P.M.
March 12, 2009 (Los Angeles) – From the famed Capitol Records Tower, to the Pylons at LAX, hundreds of L.A.'s most recognizable landmarks have committed to turning out their lights for Earth Hour on Saturday, March 28th at 8:30 p.m. as part of the first ever global vote for action on climate change. By the time Earth Hour reaches the L.A. city limits, more than 1,000 cities across the globe will have cast their votes in the symbolic movement regarding one of the most pressing issues facing the planet. From Fiji to L.A.'s own Figueroa, Earth Hour will sweep across the Earth from time zone to time zone motivating people to turn out all non-essential lights in their houses and businesses and to join the global movement for change. That's just the first step before citizens descend on Nokia Plaza at L.A. LIVE, Saturday, March 28th, for the ultimate celebration for change.
Real estate giant, CB Richard Ellis, announced today its global support of World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) Earth Hour 2009. The property management company is encouraging lights-out participation in the more than 2 billion square feet of its global management portfolio. Additionally, CBRE will observe Earth Hour in its more than 300 offices around the world, and encourage personal participation among its more than 30,000 global employees. In partnership support of Earth Hour with WWF and the Flagship City of L.A., CBRE has committed to turn off all non-essential lighting and equipment in 80 managed office buildings totaling nearly 20 million square feet. On a national level, the commitment extends today to 180 managed buildings totaling 60 million square feet, with the total growing as additional cities are added. To further increase environmental awareness and encourage participation, each of the occupants in the participating buildings will be provided with “101 Tips Toward a Greener Tomorrow,” which serves as a green guide for home conservation and co-branded with WWF's Earth Hour.

Dark Performances
• Program: Performance venues and music icons around L.A. will power down their non-essential exterior lighting as music performances go acoustic and improv theaters troupes perform in the dark.
• First Participants: the Groundlings' Larry Dorf & Andrew Friedman created an exclusive, hilariously 'dark' video in celebration of Earth Hour L.A., which can be seen on YouTube and at www.EarthHourUS.org/LosAngeles; others who have committed and should be committed (we're here all week, folks!) include:
o I. O. West, Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade theaters are launching pads for the world's biggest names in comedy and entertainment. Legendary careers have begun on these stages, and the stars of tomorrow perform on them today. Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Mike Myers are just a few of the stars who got their starts here.
o The Comedy Store is arguably the most famous comedy venue in America. Every stand-up comic you've ever heard of has performed here, including such names as Chris Rock, Jay Leno, Bill Maher and Rosie O'Donnell. It is a major destination for visitors to the nation's entertainment capital.
o Amoeba Records is L.A.'s most iconic and recognizable music store. Located in the heart of Hollywood, it features live music performances, a colorful and passionate staff, and customers who visit from all over the world to discover music they cannot find anywhere else.
