Prince of Vegas?!

So last night the ever-colorful Prince started his gig at the Rio Hotel in his new concert venue/nightclub in Las Vegas called 3121 (named after his recent studio album). Sources say the Purple one will be doing two shows a week (Fridays and Saturdays) for an "indefinite" time. Now, you may snicker or think that he's fallen back to 1999 with this interesting step by the artist formerly known as formerly known as Prince, but, baby, Rox thinks it's going to be all diamonds and pearls for the tiny maestro. Remember when people laughed at Celine for doing a three-year gig at Caesers Palace? Well, let me tell you this, when I met Celine backstage at her show a couple of years ago we got a tour of the "dressing rooms" and more ... they did a replica of her son's room at her Vegas mansion in the theater itself so he would feel right at home (and that's just the beginning...). She's made $80 million working about 200 nights a year (for 90 minutes) so who is laughing now, I ask?! By the way, Cher is set to inhabit the theater that will be known as formerly Celine's theater in 2008. Rox says Prince will be very successful as he showcases himself and artists that he signs to his label in the plush venue. There will be many, many more little red corvettes for him to buy with all the dough 3121 will bring to the blackjack table! I can't wait to see the concert. Stay tuned for more.
