Madonna Cranks a Couple More Out
Not children -- she's only adopting those, dearies -- I'm talking albums. Yes, 2007 is set to see a Madonna CD/DVD package that will be out January 30 (previously reported on Things That Go Pop), but Rox also has learned that Stuart Price (the producer of her worldwide hit "Confessions on a Dance Floor") is chatty cathie right now and is talking up Madge's follow-up to "Confessions" with all new materials that has, as he says, "a new sound." Price says they are working with some of the hottest collaborators around but wouldn't give names, dammit. I'm assuming with the hottness of producer Timbaland (Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake) he almost is a shoe-in to shuffle in new Material, Girl. Let's hope that the "new" sound isn't a rip-off of the road that Gwen currently is going down because that has been the road most trampled. It should be a cool mix of R&B (a la her "Bedtime Stories" set which featured "Take A Bow" and "Secret") along with a cool trance vibe, Rox is guessing. Her 2005 effort was a showstopper in the arenas but only first single "Hung Up" saw any radio play -- perhaps Madge was too far ahead of the only-make-music-that-sounds-like-everything-else-on-the-radio-to-have-a-shot-at-actually-getting-played (ask Pink about that -- she had one of the better CDs of 2006 and hasn't seen radio really yet -- stupid girls). Anywho, will be interesting to see the media frenzy around her next "comeback." Hugs to you Ms. M.

If Madge asked me (which she didn't, thank you very much), she needs to do a poppier dance album. Think "Express Yourself" era. Something fast and fun and catchier than this last album. And no "messages." Nobody wants to have to think about anything!
