Strike Up The Band?!

There is a brand new strike for the Entertainment Industry, but it is not in Hollywood. It is in the Big Apple, New York City. Broadway stagehands, who are members of the Local One Union, are set to walk out from the job starting today. Many of the shows will have to be cancelled. Young Frankestein and Mary Poppins will not be affected, due to the fact those shows have hired independent contractors.

Local One is on strike after three months of negotiations over new work rules.

The last strike Broadway faced was in 2003 when musicians walked out. That strike only lasted for four days.
