Grey's Anatomy & "Private Practice"

Ok, if you watched Grey's last night you'll know exactly what I'm talking about..."I'm going to kiss you now. With tongue." When Tim Daly said this to Kate Walsh's Addison on last night's two-hour Grey's episode Rox about fell off my couch. How totally hot was that? Anywho, I, of course, have some thoughts on last night's spin-off episode. Let me give an overview if you have been living in a cave lately...ABC is working on a Grey's spin-off (tentatively titled "Private Practice") starring Kate Walsh, Tim Daly ("Wings"), hottie Taye Diggs and one of my fave actors Amy Brenneman (Rox met her and Tyne Daily on the set of "Judging Amy" a couple of years ago and they couldn't have been more fantastic!). The premise is that Addison has nothing left in Seattle with those dysfunctional love doctors at Seattle Grace and needs to start fresh. She visits her med school best friend Naomi (played to little success by Merrin Dungey) to get away from McDreamy, McSteamy, McGaybasher, etc. The lack of chemistry between Walsh and Dungey is so uncomfortable and, unfortunately, the big medical words are too much for Dungey to handle. However, the set-up for the spin-off seems to be building on the same formula that CSI did when it branched out into CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI: Wichita, etc. -- same show, different city. Seems to be that's what "Private Practice" will be but is that bad? Well, with the chemistry between Daly (Tim, not Tyne) and Walsh, as well as between Brenneman and Paul Adelstein who plays the social awkward "Cooper" being hot, hot, hot, maybe this will be Grey's for adults. Oh, and did you happen to see the surfing receptionist. Ah, to be a surf board...
