Ok, so, as many of you know, I, Roxie, am a closeted nerd. I love sci-fi, action and movies with fairies and trolls (no, I'm not talking about a Tom Cruise movie). Anywho, so my friend Tehran and I went to see Transformers. Have you heard of it? Yes, I had to get past the fact that Rox is too old to have played with Transformers as a kid and too young to have played hot potato. It does seem about 20 years too late for this movie to come out. However, when you're dealing with action-adventure director Michael Bay you know things are going to be fast-paced. And even though this movie is 2.5 hours long it seemed like 30 minutes. There is such great dialogue, witty banter, interesting characters and, for those of us who never really knew the story of the Transformers, enough background given that I didn't feel left out. And oh my, Cher...can we talk about the special effects? FANTASTIC. And although Josh Dumahl, Dumell, Dumhell, whatever the hell his last name is (we'll just call him "Josh")...so "Josh" is a super hottie but it's really dear Shia LeBeouf (which actually means "A beef gift from God") who is the super star in this flick -- oh, and the special effects. You may ask, "Rox, where've I seen The Beef?" Good question -- he was on Disney Channel's "Even Stevens" for a few years but this definitely is his star-shot. Shia plays a kid who is targeted by the bad Transformers and, thus, protected by the good Transformers (and the reason he is targeted is cleverly explained throughout the movie). Is cleverly a word? Anythough, the movie is interesting, entertaining, a good moral lesson for the kiddies and lots and lots of action. In a summer of disappointing "event" flicks, it's great to see a movie that lives up to the hype. And if I were in charge of Transformers, I wouldn't, well, change a thing! TTGP gives "Transformers" a five-pack out of a six-pack of diet pop.

I agree Rox! Saw the movie twice already. Shia also was in Disturbia, I, Robot and Holes. Spielberg is grooming him to be the next "everyman hero" Tom Hanks apparently. Look forward to seeing him in Indiana Jones 4 next! He and his lil GF were in the cabana next to mine in Cabo last summer - cool kid! Two thumbs up.
