So, yes, Rox and five other adults went to go see "Alvin and The Chipmunks" over the weekend -- along with the $45 million other people who saw that instead of "I Am Legend." Nonetheless, you may fret...but dang it, it was a really cute movie. The animation was fantastic -- the story was great and the singing was perfecto! The only missteps in this reimagination of the classic song/cartoon were the actual HUMAN ACTORS. Jason Lee, Bless His Heart, couldn't act his way out of a playpen -- his uptight 'Dave' is more like a dude smokin' doob than a lovable guy who "adopts" the three very talented -- and talkative -- chipmunks ... Alvin, Theodore and Simon. It's good for a laugh and warming the cockles of the, um, heart but please simply ignore Jason Lee and any other humans in it -- the real stars are, of course, the ones who want the hula hoop! TTGP gives "Chipmunks" three pops out of a six pack and Jason Lee one pop -- in the head -- for trying to act.
