"21" Is a Bust

Ok, my actor buddy Jason and I decided to go to the new Kevin Spacey movie "21" and I will tell you the theater was packed. Now, there have only been a couple movies in Rox's life where I actually nodded off -- Ishtar was one ('nuff said). So, I had a feeling "21" was going to be a crap shoot but I had no idea it would be such a bust, darlings. The premise is...Spacey...playing, well, Spacey, is a math teacher at MIT who recruits genius students of his to count cards in Vegas and make a mint...and of course (spoiler alert) they get busted but there is what is supposed to be a big twist that is so evident by the, well, opening credits that I found myself making a cerebral list of groceries from the start. I wish I could find every cliche that was incorporated into this movie but I like to think Roxster is more creative than that. It's just the way the cookie bounces, lovers, it's just the way the cookie bounces, I say. Anywho, the actor who gets top billing -- what? over Spacey, Laurence Fishburne (playing Laurence Fishburne) and the oh-so-over-rated-Kate-Bosworth is, oh wait, I forget because I've never heard of him. Story still applies -- the movie is so mind-numbing that I almost wished I was watching that Caveman show that used to be on TV what seems to be 10,000 years ago B.C. So, what is Rox's point?? "21" is so lame that I actually had to get up and get a diet Coke (natch) to stay awake for the very anticlimactic, climax. I would say rent it but only if you have 21 other things to be doing while it plays in the background. TTGP gives "21" only 1 pop out of six pack ... apparently instead of "21" it should have been called CRAPS. (Don't get me wrong, it probably will open at #1 this weekend, sadly...Rox just can't wait for Leatherheads, are you feelin' me, loves?)!
