Blonde Bondshell

Ok. So I've loved James Bond since Sean Connery and I always look forward to the next film. I liked how polished Pierce Brosnan was and no one can delivery a witty reparte like he can. So I went into "Casino Royale" with a somewhat open mind -- you know, trying to be ok with a blonde bondshell and all. Well, let me tell you this ... Sean who? Pierce who? Daniel Craig is a tough, rugged, dirty (in a good way), hot-bodied, blue-eyed, lover-and-fighter with the sexiest accent you've ever heard since Meryl played in Sophie's Choice. The movie itself you have to get used to because the timing of it is when Bond, James Bond first gets promoted to 007 status. This, somewhat like Batman Returns, is more emotional insight into the creation of the international man of mystery and mistresses rather than high-tech gadgets and cool cars (although there are some of both in this film). There is a lot of dialogue in the movie but it's setting up why Bond is the way he is in the future so pay close attention. Rox is absolutely smitten with Craig. This rougher, tougher also is sexier and it makes you believe Bond really can do the things he does. And, mylanta, Georgia can the man wear a tux -- oh, and a speedo. Nonetheless, the most disappointing aspects of the new Bond were his beauties -- who actually aren't that beautiful or tough. When you look at Ursula Andress and Halle Berry you are talking about two of the most beautiful women in history. The two women in Bond are put to shame by Craig's hottness and they're neither individually beautiful or interesting in the least. Which makes Rox think (which sometimes exhausts me) that perhaps it was intentional to have more background dressing then scene-stealers to lunch the new and, I believe, improved Bond. However, the movie is good and Rox was having heat flashes in the seat -- my popcorn started repopping itself as I held it. Yes, I do believe Daniel is the real deal. TTGP gives "Casino Royale" a 4-pack out of six but gives Daniel "Hottie" Craig a 007!!!
