There's another diva in the house and her name is former American Idoliscious Jennifer Hudson. So, if you've not heard that this little tiny movie musical titled "Dreamgirls" is coming out for the holidays you have either been 1) watching too much Tivo and fast-forwarding the commercials 2) been lighting candles for dear Brit while prayin' that she sells the trailor and partners with a great music producer or 3) keep rewinding the James Bond trailer to see Bond, James Bond emerge from the ocean in that skimpy speedo. You pick. Otherwise you know exactly what Rox is talkin' about. And I am telling you...that for more than one night only Jennifer Hudson as "Effie" is kicking Miss B's (Miss Deena if you're nasty) bootyliscious all over theater screens. And she might even get a well-deserved Oscar nom for her first film role. The girl can sing and the girl can shine. One friend of Rox's said during the preview screening of the show yesterday that the entire audience applauded after every one of Jennifer's performance. Eddie Murphy can kiss Daddy Daycare III goodbye because, amen, he is screen magic, baby, as James Thunder Early. And, no, this is "not an account of Diana Ross and The Supremes" (wink). Check out the movie and you just might see the next American Screen Goddess! JH, you're Rox's dreamgirl indeed.
