Oh, Janet...

As any good Roxster who has been devoted to Ms. Janet if you're Nasty ... even enduring the likes of Damita Jo and others recently had pre-ordered J's latest release "Discipline" which actually hit streets without much fanfare at all, I might add. And, Rox really wanted to see a Mariah-worthy comeback from Janet...well, we'll have to wait for her next Greatest Hits package to see if she includes any new material that MIGHT be worthy of being with her hits -- which haven't happened since "All For You's" "Someone to Call My Lover" several years ago. She's getting closer to dance stuff but nothing's really new, fresh or interesting. Love her or hate her, at least Madonna -- and even Paula Abdul -- have come out with some new-sounding music lately, for goodness gravy! "Discipline" doesn't pass the "are there at least five good tracks" test: I could only come up with three that I pretty much liked: "LUV," "2Nite," "Greatest X" and two that were ok: "Feedback" (her lead single that hasn't gone anywhere on the charts) and "Rock Wit U" -- there's a song on this, um, album "So Much Betta" that sounds like such a Britney b-side that it's shameful. And can she act her age, please?? Oh, and learn how to spell. Ms. J needs to take control and come up with some new beats or her's won't go on. TTGP gives "Discipline" three pops out of six pack (and that's because I've loved her for so long)...(sorry, Branden!)
